The beloved star of gymnastics has now taken on a new role as a married woman.
On Saturday, Simone Biles, the greatest gymnast of all time, announced her marriage to NFL player Jonathan Owens through her social media account. The couple shared their joy with the world by posting pictures from their big day on social media.
“I do officially owens,” Simone Biles shared a series of photos on her social media account, in which she can be seen wearing a tiered white wedding gown and her partner Jonathan Owens donning a smart tan suit. In one picture, she is beaming with joy as he raises his fist in the air, while another picture shows him lifting her up while sharing a romantic kiss.
“My person, forever,” he said with a red heart and ring emoji.
A snapshot of the newlyweds signing their marriage certificate indicates that the wedding ceremony took place on Friday.
In March, Simone Biles, the seven-time Olympic medalist, marked her 26th birthday by embarking on a new journey with her partner Jonathan Owens- the duo broke ground on their new home. Their relationship was first revealed to the public in 2020, and in February 2022, they announced their engagement with an adorable proposal picture shared by Biles. Earlier in November, the couple also treated their fans with engagement photos that were oozing with love and joy.
Last season, Jonathan Owens, the starting safety for the Houston Texans, recorded an impressive 125 tackles on the field.
Simone Biles, who has an astounding record of winning 25 World Championship medals, was recognized as one of USA TODAY’s Women of the Year 2022. This accolade came after her courageous decision to withdraw from the Tokyo Olympics and openly talk about the significance of mental health.
Simone Biles has expressed her desire to start a family at some point in the future when the timing is appropriate.
“I think kids would be amazing,” she said. “I think it’s one of the most amazing feelings in the world, what I’ve heard, but I do get that it becomes a job, and it’s hard. And I do work a lot, but I don’t think that will be a problem because I can take some time off. One day in the near future.”
